What a DHA job usually looks like
DHA is where most of our Lahore work comes from, and it isn't close. The phases run from the older blocks near the Cantt out past the ring road, and the houses are big enough that a full pack-up is rarely a van job. What we lift here is usually a whole household at once rather than a spare room.
Most households we collect from DHA land on a 10 x 20, which is 200 square feet and runs PKR 40,000 to 50,000 a month. That is a guide and not a quote. What decides it is the volume you actually have, not the number of bedrooms you started with, and two houses of the same size rarely need the same unit once one of them has sold its wardrobes and the other hasn't.
The rent covers the space and the security. Collection and delivery are quoted separately, because a third-floor flat with no lift and a ground-floor house are not the same job, and pricing them the same means one of you is paying for the other.

Why people in DHA take a unit
Storage is rarely something anyone planned for. These are the three reasons we hear most often from DHA Lahore specifically.
Families leaving the country
A flight date, a house that has to be empty before it, and furniture nobody wants to sell at two days' notice. This is the largest single group we collect from in DHA, and the stays are long. Six months to two years is ordinary, and there's no penalty at either end of that.
Landlords between tenants
A house lets faster unfurnished, and the furniture has to go somewhere while it does. Storing a few rooms for a few months costs less than the rent you lose holding a furnished house empty, waiting for the smaller pool of tenants who want it that way.
Houses mid-renovation
The older phases are being rebuilt one plot at a time. Dust and tradesmen don't mix with a dining set, and a unit for the length of the work is cheaper than replacing what gets ruined in a room nobody sealed properly.

One national rate. DHA Lahore isn't priced differently to anywhere else we operate, so if somebody local is quoting you more for the same floor area, this is the number to hold them against.

Collection day
Getting a truck into the phase
Roads inside DHA are wide and the truck is rarely the problem. Two things do come up. Some phases want a commercial vehicle logged at the gate, which is easier arranged the day before than argued at the barrier on the morning. And the older blocks have carports and gate pillars set closer than the newer ones, so tell us if a three-tonne truck can't turn into the drive. A shuttle changes the crew and the time, and that belongs in the quote rather than on the day.
None of this changes your monthly rent, which is based on the floor area you take and nothing else. It changes the collection quote, and we would far rather it changed the quote than the morning.
How a collection runsOne thing we do not do: cold storage
We do not offer refrigerated or temperature-controlled storage. Our units are dry, ventilated and pest-controlled, which is right for furniture, appliances, documents and household goods, and wrong for anything that needs to be kept cold. If you need cold storage, we would rather tell you now than take a booking we cannot honour.

Do you collect from every phase of DHA Lahore?
Yes, all of them, including the extensions and the blocks the maps still argue about. Lahore collection is priced as one service area rather than by distance, so a Phase 8 address isn't charged more than a Phase 3 one for the same amount of furniture.
Can you empty a whole DHA house in one day?
Usually, for anything up to a four bedroom house, if we start early and the house is ready. What slows a day down is almost never the loading, it's rooms still being packed while the crew stands in them. If you tell us the house won't be ready, we'll plan two shorter days instead. That costs the same and goes better.
I'm already abroad. Can somebody else hand the house over?
Yes, and we do it often. Name whoever will be there, a relative, a property manager or the guard, and we'll deal with them on the day. The inventory and the seal photographs come to you by WhatsApp wherever you are, so you can check what went in without being in the country.
Is DHA Lahore more expensive than the rest of the city?
No. The rate card is national, so DHA is priced the same as Gulberg, the same as Islamabad and the same as Karachi. Collection and delivery are quoted separately from the rent, and that quote reflects the size of the job rather than the address it starts from.
