What does storage cost?
Units are PKR 200 to 250 per square foot per month, so you pay for exactly the floor area you take. In practice that means a 5 x 5 (25 sq ft, PKR 5,000 to 6,250 a month) holds a studio or a single room; a 10 x 10 (100 sq ft, PKR 20,000 to 25,000 a month) holds a 1 or 2 bedroom flat, furniture and appliances included; a 10 x 15 (150 sq ft, PKR 30,000 to 37,500 a month) holds a 2 to 3 bedroom house with its white goods; a 10 x 20 (200 sq ft, PKR 40,000 to 50,000 a month) holds a 3 to 4 bedroom house, everything in it. Containers are a flat rate instead: PKR 30,000 a month for the 20 ft container, and PKR 50,000 a month for the 40 ft container. There's a 1 month minimum, and collection and delivery are quoted separately because they depend on where you're and how much there is.
What size storage unit do I need?
As a rule of thumb: a 5 x 5 (25 sq ft, PKR 5,000 to 6,250 a month) holds a studio or a single room; a 10 x 10 (100 sq ft, PKR 20,000 to 25,000 a month) holds a 1 or 2 bedroom flat, furniture and appliances included; a 10 x 15 (150 sq ft, PKR 30,000 to 37,500 a month) holds a 2 to 3 bedroom house with its white goods; a 10 x 20 (200 sq ft, PKR 40,000 to 50,000 a month) holds a 3 to 4 bedroom house, everything in it. If you're storing more than a 10 x 20, a whole house rather than a flat, a 40 ft container is usually the better buy at PKR 50,000 a month. If you would rather not guess, send us a room-by-room list or a few photos and we'll tell you the size. Getting this wrong costs you either rent you did not need or a second unit.
Should I take a unit or a container?
A unit is a partitioned room inside the building, billed by the square foot, so you pay for exactly the space you use. A container is a steel box on site, sealed and exclusively yours, at a flat rate, PKR 30,000 a month for the 20 ft container (149 sq ft, about 201 rupees a foot), and PKR 50,000 a month for the 40 ft container (304 sq ft, about 164 rupees a foot). So the 40 ft container is cheaper per square foot than any unit, and the smaller one lands level with the cheapest unit rate, the bigger the box, the less you pay per foot, which is how bulk should behave. Take a unit when you want to pay for exactly the space you need, and a container when you're storing a whole house and would rather it went in sealed as one consignment and stayed that way.
How secure is it?
Every facility has cameras covering the entrances and the unit doors, recording around the clock, and a guard on site overnight. Your unit is locked and the key or seal is yours. We photograph the seal when your goods go in and again when they come out, so there's a record either side of the stay, and nobody else's belongings share your unit.
Can I get to my things while they are in storage?
Yes, by appointment. Give us 48 hours of notice and your unit will be open and accessible when you arrive. The first hour on site is free. If you would rather not travel, tell us which item you need and we can pull it and courier it to you instead, billed as a small job.
How long do I have to keep it in storage?
The minimum is 1 month. After that it's month to month. Most of our customers are families who have left the country and the goods sit for six months to two years, but there's nothing stopping you taking a unit for four weeks while a house is repainted. Tell us when you want it out and we'll book the delivery.
Do you collect and deliver, or do I bring it myself?
Either. Most people have us collect: we pack, wrap, load, inventory and place it in the unit, and reverse all of that when you want it back. If you would rather bring things yourself, that's fine too and you only pay the rent. Collection and delivery are priced on the volume and the distance, so they are quoted separately from the monthly rate.
Do you offer cold storage?
We do not offer refrigerated or temperature-controlled storage. Our units are dry, ventilated and pest-controlled, which is right for furniture, appliances, documents and household goods, and wrong for anything that needs to be kept cold. If you need cold storage, we would rather tell you now than take a booking we cannot honour.
Which cities do you cover?
We run our own facilities in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi, and collect from the main residential areas in each. We're not a broker placing your things in somebody else's warehouse. The buildings are ours, which is why we can promise the same standard and the same price in all three.
What can't go into storage?
Nothing perishable, nothing living, and nothing flammable or explosive, no gas cylinders, fuel, paint thinner or fireworks. No cash, jewellery or documents you would be unable to replace; keep those with you. Everything else that makes up a household, furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, books, crockery, clothes, is what these units are built for.
